Mike Walker
Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer

In the role of Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Mike Walker is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the position of @Road as a technology leader in Mobile Resource Management. Mr. Walker's 20-plus years of product development experience with companies such as Sierra Wireless, Motorola, Bell Northern Research and Mitel has provided him with management and technical expertise in the areas of telecommunications switching products, GSM/PCS wireless networks, two-way paging systems and wireless data modems, terminals and solutions for mobile and fixed RF high-speed data communications. Prior to joining @Road, Mr. Walker served as Vice President Engineering at Silicon Wireless where he led the development of a new-generation GSM base station system (BSS) which provided substantial gains in radio coverage and data performance over conventional systems.

Previously, he helped establish Sierra Wireless, Inc. as the leader in multi-mode wireless modem devices by introducing award-winning products to the CDPD market. While at Sierra, Mr. Walker served as Vice President of Engineering and then as Vice President of Operations. Before this, he held profit-and-loss responsibility for wireless data products deployed in Europe as well as a variety of engineering management positions for Motorola's mobile data division. Mr. Walker holds a BASc (EE) from Queen's University in Canada and a Masters of Engineering degree from Simon Fraser University.
