GPS Data Feed
Available for use with @Road GeoManager iLM and @Road Pathway iLM, @Road GPS Data Feed enables drivers to obtain on-demand latitude/longitude data for mobile applications that provide location information and real-time navigation. This optional feature, integrated for use with a mobile computer, eliminates the need for customers to purchase separate GPS receivers for in-vehicle navigation.
Using the industry-standard NMEA format, GPS data is sent from the in-vehicle iLM (Internet Location Manager) device to an external IP-enabled mobile computer located in the vehicle. Working with the mobile computer’s navigation application, the driver can use the GPS data to access the application’s highly-detailed maps and turn-by-turn directions from his or her vehicle. This capability enables current-location-and-time stamping on the mobile computer, as well as more efficient routing.
