@Road to Showcase Wi-Fi Enabled Mobile Resource Management Data Communications Hub at OSP Expo

The @Road iLM 3100-W Series features integrated Wi-Fi, GPS and EDGE/EvDO technology that can enable mobile workers to rapidly and securely access critical back-office enterprise application

FREMONT, Calif. – November 15, 2005 – @Road®, Inc. (NASDAQ: ARDI), a global provider of Mobile Resource Management (MRM) solutions, is expected to showcase its next-generation @Road iLM® (Internet Location Manager) 3100-W Series Wi-Fi enabled high-speed MRM data communications hub at the OSP (Outside Plant) Expo, booth #119, scheduled for Nov. 16-17 in Fort Worth, Texas. The OSP Expo is one of the leading educational venues in the telecommunications industry, providing educational training for network field and operations personnel.

The @Road  iLM 3100-W Series is one of the first mobile devices embedded with either EDGE (Enhanced Data for Global Evolution) or EvDO (Evolution Data Only) wireless network technology that also integrates GPS and Wi-Fi technologies into a single MRM data communications hub for the effective management of mobile workers and their work. The @Road iLM 3100-W Series is an element of the @Road Mobile HotSpot and a component of the overall @Road GeoManagerSM MRM solution.

“We understand that telecommunication companies increasingly want to enable their mobile workers with secure, high-speed access to critical back-office applications for increased productivity and improved service delivery in the field,” said Leo Jolicoeur, @Road chief marketing officer. “That's why we’ve developed the @Road iLM 3100-W Series MRM data communications hub for @Road GeoManager. The iLM 3100-W Series leverages high-speed EDGE or EvDO wireless network infrastructures and 802.11 Wi-Fi technology to quickly connect mobile workers in the field to corporate data in real time. We are excited to highlight this advanced MRM technology at the OSP Expo."

As a component of the @Road GeoManager iLM MRM solution, the EDGE- or EvDO-based @Road iLM 3100-W Series MRM data communications hub can help provide mobile workers with high-speed 802.11 wireless connectivity between a Wi-Fi enabled mobile computing device and back-office enterprise applications such as order entry, billing, customer relationship management and inventory systems. For instance, remote tasks such as opening and updating work orders, accessing e-mail, viewing customer records, updating inventory, placing orders or reviewing upcoming assignments can be accomplished quickly and securely at the job site or point of customer contact.

Unlike a typical Wi-Fi public access point, the @Road iLM 3100-W MRM data communications hub is fortified with 128-bit WEP encryption and MAC address filtering to help protect sensitive data during communication sessions. The @Road iLM 3100-W Series device also integrates GPS location-based technology, enabling telecommunications and other companies to harness the power of real-time location information of mobile resources in the field.

"Greater real-time visibility into the status and locations of mobile resources, workers and work processes in field, coupled with high-speed mobile worker access to back office business applications, can allow enterprises to more efficiently and effectively respond to customer needs through an optimized service delivery process that can greatly improve mobile worker productivity, customer satisfaction and revenue," Jolicoeur said.

Also at the OSP Expo, @Road is planning to feature the @Road Field Service Technology Demo Van which incorporates state-of-the-art @Road MRM technologies, including the iLM 3100-W Series MRM data communications hub. The @Road Field Service Technology Demo Van demonstrates how @Road solutions can help telecommunications’ companies gain visibility into mobile worker productivity, reduce service delivery costs and increase revenue and customer loyalty. Additionally, on Nov. 16 at 2:30 p.m. at OSP Expo, Gary Dennis, @Road senior director, solution development and management, is scheduled to present an accredited educational seminar entitled: "Three Secrets to Effective Field Force Management.” During this seminar, OSP Expo attendees can gain a new perspective on customer service excellence and learn about the potential benefits of service delivery automation made possible through next-generation scheduling, dispatching and appointing systems.
