What is Exceptions?
Exceptions is a suite of reports/notifications for efficiently managing daily mobile workforce operations through event-based monitoring. Users are notified only when pre-defined parameters and thresholds are met. Each Exception can be delivered via online reports, email, and a notification console. Exceptions are available to all GeoManagerSM subscribers (Firmware upgrade may be required).
What kind of computer system and web browser is recommended to operate the Exceptions application?
A basic Pentium®-class system with Internet access (33K modem or better), 2GB of disk space and 64MB of main memory is suggested. The recommended minimum browser version for Exceptions is Internet Explorer version 5.5 with Service Pack 2.

Can Exceptions be created for specific mobile workers and not the entire workforce?
Exceptions can be enabled for selected workers or for an entire workforce.
Can users define when to monitor mobile assets for each Exception?
The customer can determine the monitoring schedule for each Exception.
When are Exceptions processed?
Standard delivery Exceptions are captured and processed overnight for delivery the following morning. (Near) real-time Exceptions are captured and processed for immediate delivery.
How are Exceptions delivered?
Exceptions can be delivered via online reports, email, a mobile phone, or a browser based notification console that displays Exceptions as they happen.
What in-vehicle hardware is required for Exceptions?
Exceptions use the same hardware as GeoManager. A Messaging and Forms Exceptions would require an iDT™ Internet Data Terminal or MobileForms package. Switch-based Exceptions require Switch Status. Temperature Exceptions require Temp Status.
Is Exceptions compatible with Pocket Edition, RoadFORCESM, RoadREPORTSM and Voice Solutions?
@Road Exceptions is currently only available with GeoManager. @Road will evaluate the opportunities to integrate Exceptions with other applications.
What happens when the mobile asset leaves the wireless network coverage area?
The iLM® Internet Location Manager continues to monitor the mobile asset's location and transmits all activity and Exceptions-related detail when the mobile asset returns to coverage area.
Does Exceptions work in both CDPD and iDEN networks?
Exceptions are compatible with both CDPD and iDEN networks.
Is there a monthly fee for this service?
The Basic, Messaging, Temp Status and Switch Status Exceptions packages are included with the monthly service of that product (e.g. GeoManager, Temp Status, Switch Status, and Messaging), however, there is a minimal charge for the Premium package.
What is the activation charge and account set-up for Exceptions?
Exceptions is an add-on service to GeoManager. Customers will subscribe to Exceptions by the standard service agreement. There is no charge to activate and set-up Exceptions. Exceptions require Firmware 1.4 or higher. An upgrade fee may apply.
