About GeoManagerSM

Which browser is best for the GeoManager service?
We recommend using Netscape 4.5 or better or Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher.

Will GeoManager monitor my vehicles when I'm not online?
Our high performance servers are in constant contact with your vehicles 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.

I'm using AOL®, Compuserv®, or Prodigy™. Can I still use the GeoManager service?
Our service does not support Internet browsers other than Netscape or Internet Explorer. However, you can still use the GeoManager service if you connect with AOL as normal, minimize the browser, and then launch Netscape or Internet Explorer.

GeoManager Application Troubleshooting

I am unable to view the maps properly.
In order to view maps, you need to download the "Autodesk Mapguide 5.0 Plugin" from our web site at www.road.com. To download, follow these steps:

  1. Go to www.road.com.
  2. Click on the "Demo" link.
  3. Scroll down until you see the section titled "Autodesk Mapguide 5.0 Plugin (INTERNET EXPLORER)".
  4. Depending on your Internet browser, select either "MapGuide 5.0 Plug-in (NETSCAPE 4.5)" link or "MapGuide 5.0 Plug-in (INTERNET EXPLORER)".
  5. Select "Save to disk" and wait for the download to complete. Note where you've saved the file. (The name of the file will be either mp50.exe or mc50.exe).
  6. Once the download is complete, locate the file (mp50.exe or mc50.exe) and double click on it.
  7. Once installation is complete, shut the browser down and log in as normal. You should now be able to view maps.

I've clicked the "Update" button in the “Device Status" application, but receive a "No response" message back.
If you have access to your iLM® box, check the status of the 'COM' light. If the status light is on and you receive “No response”, call our customer support line. If the 'COM' light is not on, then check to see that the 'COM' (glass mount) antenna or combo antenna are properly mounted and free of damage. Also, check to make sure that all the wires are properly connected.

If you have confirmed that lights, connections, and hardware are in proper order, then please e-mail us at support@road-inc.com or call our support line at 1-877-4AtRoad.

I've installed the units in my vehicles, but they do not show up in the Vehicle Status list screen.
Your vehicles will appear in Vehicle Status when they are active and data is sent back to our servers.

I have Netscape or Internet Explorer on my computer, but I'm still having trouble with my GeoManager service.
You probably have an older Internet browser which is not compatible with the GeoManager service. To determine your Internet browser's version, follow these steps:

  1. Open the browser
  2. Click on "Help" towards the top right of the screen
  3. On the pull down menu, click "About [name of browser…Netscape, Internet Explorer or Communicator]"
  4. Note the version of your browser

If you have an older version than 4.5 (for Netscape) or 4.0 (for Internet Explorer), simply go www.netscape.com or www.microsoft.com to download a newer version free of charge.

My activity reports don't seem to be working properly. The time of the last reported position doesn't match with the current time. It's off by several hours.
If your vehicle has moved in and out of cellular coverage areas, our "store forward" feature will safely store the information in the iLM® until the vehicle moves back into a stable cellular coverage area. Once the vehicle reaches a stable coverage area, the full report of the vehicle location will automatically show up on your account.

Depending on your browser, you may need to click on the "Refresh" or "Reload" button to bring up the most updated information from the Activity Report.
