Privacy Policy

@Road®, Inc. is committed to protecting your privacy online. You are important to us, so we take special care to maintain your trust. In order to fully understand your rights, we encourage you to read this Privacy Policy and to consult our Terms of Service (available post-login for @Road customers) page. This Privacy Policy governs @Road usage and storage of your personally identifiable information, and non-personally identifiable information is beyond the scope of this Privacy Policy. Please direct questions regarding this statement to privacy@road-inc.com.

When does @Road collect my personally identifiable information?
@Road may gather information from @Road users and visitors in several ways, including by use of @Road solutions, voluntary registration and submissions, Internet “cookie” technology and Internet Protocol (“IP”) addresses.

Registration. When you register with @Road, we collect information that helps us to personalize content for you. At the initial registration screen for @Road subscribers, we ask for your name, address, telephone number and email address. Depending on specific solutions, you may be required to provide additional information to better provide you the applicable product or service. On occasion, we may also collect additional personal information if you choose to enter a contest or complete a survey form. Generally, the more information you volunteer, the better we are able to customize your experience.

Other Submissions. In addition to registration, we may ask you for personal information at other times, including without limitation when you use @Road solutions, participate in promotions or contests or ask a question about or report a problem with an @Road solution or this web site.

Cookies. We use cookies to store and track your preferences to personalize your user experience. A cookie is a message that is sent to your browser from a web server and stored on your computer's hard drive. Most Internet sites use cookies. You can set your browser preferences to reject all cookies (see below), but then you will not be able to participate in most customized services and you may be required to repeatedly submit your personal information in order to participate in various services or promotions. Cookies make your experience easier by saving your preferences and passwords. We also use cookies that contain no personal information at all. These cookies help us in several ways, including by estimating our audience size and helping to determine which areas of the @Road web site are the most popular. No advertiser's cookie is placed on users' computers.

IP Address. We may also log IP addresses for the purposes of systems administration or to report information in aggregate form to advertisers (e.g. how many visitors logged on to our web site). An IP address is a number that is assigned to your computer automatically when you use the Internet. When you visit a particular web page in the @Road web site, our servers log your IP address. We do not link your IP address to personally identifiable information.

How is my personally identifiable information used? The primary goal of @Road in collecting personal information is to provide you, the user, with a customized experience when using our solutions.

Customized Look and Feel. @Road gathers user information to provide you with an enjoyable user experience. For instance, your personal information enables us to greet you when you return to our web site and to provide you with your specified preferences (e.g. web site look and feel and preferred categories), as well as services we think will be of interest to you. We review our users' preferences, demographics, traffic patterns and other information in the aggregate so that we can better understand our audience and our users’ desires.

E-mail. If you register with our web site, from time to time, we may email you informative messages about our solutions or third party products and services that we believe may be of interest to you, if you have asked us to do so. We will not send you these mailings unless you check the appropriate box when you register. You may update your profile at any time after registration if you want to change your election regarding such offers or mailings. Please check the registration screens for instructions on how to update your user profile and/or opt in/out of receiving offers and mailings.

With whom does @Road share information?
In general, we will not disclose your personal information to third parties except to the extent necessary to provide you with the solution you have purchased or requested, or under circumstances required by law. We will disclose your personal information when we believe in good faith that any applicable law, regulation or legal process requires it, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect or enforce our rights or the rights of another user or when we deem necessary or advisable to provide, maintain, service or improve our solutions.

We disclose aggregated and non-personally identifiable user statistics and location and traffic data in order to describe our solutions and reach to prospective partners, advertisers, and other third parties, as well as to offer new solutions to our customers or enable our partners to do so. Aggregated data and non-personally identifiable information is not traceable to you specifically.

Specific uses of personal information that vary from this Privacy Policy (if any) may be found in the Terms of Service or privacy policies applicable to a particular solution. To the extent that you are notified of potential uses of your personal information that are different from those described in this Privacy Policy during your agreement with us or enrollment in a particular contest or promotion, the uses of information set forth in that agreement, contest or promotion will supersede this Privacy Policy. Please review carefully the Terms of Service applicable to the solution(s) that you have purchased or for which you sign-up or in which you participate. Please note, however, that we do not control the privacy policies of any advertisers and other third party sites. If you click-through a banner ad or link to a third party site and submit your information, you will be subject to the privacy policies of those third parties. We assume no responsibility or liability for any third party policies or the actions of third parties.

What are my options to control the use of my personal information?
Most browsers can be configured to reject cookies or alert you when cookies are being sent. If you choose to reject all cookies, you will be unable to use those @Road solutions that require registration. You may cancel your registration to the @Road web site (but not to any @Road solution) and/or request the removal of your personal information from our records by sending an email to privacy@road-inc.com. We will send an email to confirm your request. After you respond, we will remove your personal information from our database. Residual information may remain in our archives and records, but this information will not be used for a commercial purpose (however we may notify you of major changes to our solutions from time to time). We reserve the right to use non-personally identifiable information or data from the use of our solutions for commercial purposes. We reserve the right to maintain information on registered users who have violated our Terms of Service or other agreements with us or who have had their access to @Road restricted for such purposes as detection of repeat offenders.

What else should I know about my privacy?
You should be aware that if you voluntarily disclose personal information online in a public area, such information can be collected and used by others. We do not control the actions of our visitors and registered users. If you disclose personal information in a review, bulletin board or any other publicly accessible portion of the @Road web site, you do so at your own risk and you understand that your submitted information may be collected and used by others to send you unsolicited messages or advertisements, or for other purposes. Please remember that protection of your privacy begins with you. You are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of any password you use, and you should always be careful and responsible whenever disclosing information online. Although we will use commercially reasonable efforts to safeguard the privacy of your personal information, transmissions made by means of the Internet cannot be made absolutely secure. @Road assumes no liability for the disclosure of data due to errors in transmission or actions of unauthorized third parties. @Road cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or from our solutions.
